Paul Ryan Tries to Raise Taxes on the Middle Class

Zerban: "I will continue my fight to ensure Congressman Ryan stops raising taxes on the middle class."

KENOSHA – Rob Zerban called on Congressman Paul Ryan to stop putting the interests of millionaires and billionaires before those of his own constituents and the American middle class. After supporting policies that have outsourced manufacturing jobs across the district, Congressman Ryan is once again damaging the economy of southeastern Wisconsin by taking money out of the pockets of middle class families during the holiday season.

The impacts of Congressman Ryan's tax hike on the middle class could be devastating. According to the Treasury Department, this decision impacts many Wisconsinites. 3.2 Million Wisconsinites will receive a combined tax increase of $2.1 Billion. 160 Million Americans will face a $1,000 tax increase if the payroll tax cut is not extended by the 30th of December. Even Republicans, including Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics, knows that increasing taxes on the middle class could cost nearly 1 Million American jobs. It could even trigger a second recession.

Instead of more tax breaks for the wealthy, Rob Zerban is committed to relieving the tax burden on the middle class and investing again in America- in our education, our health, our infrastructure, scientific research, and in rebuilding our manufacturing base.

Zerban said, "I will continue my fight to ensure Congressman Ryan stops raising taxes on the middle class. His mission to destroy seniors programs, manufacturing jobs, and the middle class has to be put to an end, and I will continue my campaign across the district to earn the support of Wisconsinites who are ready for responsible government."
